Statement of Purpose
This blog has been created solely for the purpose of making public a body of science fiction writing that is critical of all authoritarian and hierarchical social structures and tendencies. The "politics" (to use a term so often dismissively labeling of statist and economic authoritarianism's critics) are inseparable from the body of work. I am an organizer, writer and social worker in Philadelphia. I am trying to find an audience for these works, which run the spectrum from "science fiction for people who don't typically read science fiction" to "science fiction for the alienated, oppressed and allied."
Because I am a social worker, I have an unswerving dedication to empathy (which is not the same thing as sympathy). I am highly critical of the tendency of younger and less mature leftists to locate social problems in "problematic," "toxic" or "irredeemable" individuals, given that I reject most individualism. I am also a highly private person and do not wish to be a public figure. I just want people to read these works and talk about them. I want the ideas in them, and the characters and plots, to influence society for the better. I don't even care if I make any money from it. I never plan to not have a day job, mine keeps me grounded and connected to people who didn't benefit from the same privileges I did, and I am equally passionate about social work as I am about science fiction.
I will be releasing final drafts of short stories on this blog for the appreciation of the audience I have yet to find.
Please Note: There will be a lot of Bolshevik aesthetics on this website. I am not a Bolshevik, I do not endorse Bolshevism, and my family were historically oppressed by Bolsheviks. I just like their visual aesthetics.
